What ad products should I sell to my potential clients?

target-marketTo determine WHAT to sell a client, you need to think about who the client is first.  Each potential client will have unique goals & unique products or services.  They’re also each at a different stage of business and as a result, will have different needs.   Think about where each client is at in their life-cycle first….are they just starting up?  If so they may need a name or a logo & tagline….or all three.  At this stage they usually need all the basics such as a “campaign” (a look and feel) and they need to spend some time thinking through the basics – who are they?  What is their positioning?  What’s their significant margin of difference?  Who are they competing against and how can they stand out next to those competitors?  (these are all elements considered in a marketing plan).

As far as design and production…they’ll need a logo, a business package, a brochure (digital or print, or possibly both) and a website with Metadata at the very least.  If the company’s been around a while they will have other needs….perhaps they need a new brochure or a lead development program (which might include a web banner or PPC program, a web landing page and a social media program) or maybe their sales team needs support so you might suggest a sales folder and a new sales proposal.  This is just the tip of the iceberg and there could be hundreds of other things a client may potentially need.  Each situation needs to be considered individually….and while you CAN create a standard “price sheet” you’ll still have to adjust and edit that on a per client basis due to the changing details & job specifications.   Here’s a list of advertising, marketing & PR projects to consider offering your clients:
